Dr. Russell has cared for many of the families of the Kenai Peninsula as the pediatrician who worked closely with Drs. Isaak and Gaede who are considered the pioneers of medicine here and key to the construction of the hospital.
Dr. Russell has a strong interest in the Dr. Paul Isaak Memorial Scholarship that provides support to local graduates pursuing a future in the medical profession. The Isaak family established this program through the Foundation when Dr. Isaak passed away and Dr. Russell is very active in supporting their wish to continue that legacy of serving the people of the peninsula.
