
Claudia R. Furlong brings decades of leadership, business management, and property expertise to her role and community involvement. With over 34 years of experience in property management and land-related operations, she has built a reputation for strong organizational leadership, strategic oversight, and effective coordination across multiple agencies and stakeholders.
From 2003 to 2014, Claudia served as Land Management Officer for Homer Electric Association, where she oversaw land acquisition processes, coordinated with regulatory agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Kenai River Center, and managed permitting, appraisals, and project tracking. Her work required a high level of decision-making and responsibility, directly impacting organizational operations.
Earlier in her career, Claudia demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership by founding and operating Healthy Changes Nautilus Fitness Center from 1994 to 2001. Her success in business earned her recognition as the Soldotna Business Person of the Year in 1997. She also served as General Manager of Peninsula Center Shopping Mall from 1990 to 1994, where she managed leasing, marketing, and maintenance operations.
Claudia holds a high school diploma and business college education, is a past licensed real estate agent, and has earned certification in Right of Way Negotiation and Acquisition through the International Right of Way Association (IRWA).
