Music & Memory-Alive Inside

May 12, 2016 by Bruce

In September of 2015, Heritage Place was certified as a provider of Music & Memory-Alive Inside. Check it out at www.musicandmemory.org.

Officially, we are currently using this program with 20 residents, and unofficially with many more during therapy and activities.

The Activities department with the assistance of the CNA students has interviewed residents, their families and staff in regards to which music draws a positive response; what makes them “Alive Inside”. We are seeking to identify music that provides special meaning to individual residents. What music stimulates a person to sing, dance, reminisce…? Our residents have benefited in several ways from relief from anxiety and/or pain, to reminiscing with each other and staff or just plain joy as they sing, sway and tap their toes to the beat.

The Heritage Place staff donated $3000.00 to the CPH Foundation Employee Giving Program to get this program started. If you are interested in giving towards the “Music & Memory-Alive Inside” program at Heritage Place, go to our How to Donate tab, Donate Online, and look for “Heritage Place (unrestricted)” and put in the dollar amount and under comments write “Music & Memory-Alive Inside.”

12th Annual Way Out Women Event

September 22, 2015 by Bruce

Way Out Women and Friends,

It’s time once again to register for the W.O.W. ride.

W.O.W. 2015 raised over $116,000. Thanks to all of you who helped. Those funds have literally helped folks from eight to eighty. Fighting cancer is a tremendous battle; it taxes all our resources both financial and emotional. With your help, W.O.W. can help ease the financial burden of local cancer patients.

This event is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, our chosen sport of snow machining and to help those in our community who are fighting cancer.

This year’s event is scheduled for February 27, 2016. Your $100 entry fee will include a continental breakfast, goody bag, a limited edition t-shirt, lunch, and a chance to help your friends and neighbors. There will be prizes, good company, lots of fun and a chance to give back to your community. We hope to see you there.

All funds raised by the ride go directly to assist cancer patients. There are no administrative costs. These funds stay right here to help your friends, family and community members. The Central Peninsula Health Foundation will be administering funds; their office is located at Central Peninsula Hospital.

2015 Pink Ribbon Rally: August 2, 2015

June 4, 2015 by Bruce

Can you believe it’s our 10 Year Anniversary? Whether you’ve been with us from the very beginning, joined us along our journey or have yet to experience the “Rally”, we hope you will be with us this year as we celebrate 10 years of raising funds in the fight against breast cancer. This will be the final year for the current committee. We are looking for others to take over and keep the Rally going. If you are interested, please contact a committee member.

Last year we raised $30,000 for the Central Peninsula Health Foundation Breast Cancer Fund. With your help, we hope to make this year even bigger & better and have even more fun doing it. Here’s a few ways you can help…

  • Put a team together and play. If you don’t have a full team, that’s okay… just sign up and we’ll find a spot for you. It’s very important that we have all team members’ information (name, email, phone number).
  • Volunteer to help… either that day or before. There’s a lot to do. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  • Make a donation… either an item that you know everyone will want or even a cash donation! And please put on your most creative hat and come up with something for our “Pinterest” raffle!
  • Sponsor a hole… or ask a business or individual you know to show support with a sign on a tee box.
  • Get pledges… we’re asking everyone to to help us reach our goal this year. We have a great prize for the one who collects the most in pledges!
  • Buy and/or sell raffle tickets… for our annual $500 Cash Raffle. This year we’re making it easier to buy tickets by allowing you to do so when you register.
  • Help us promote this fun event… Share the attached information with others!
  • Join the Pink Ribbon Rally Group on Facebook and share with your friends to help us spread the word and to keep you updated on what’s happening
  •
Most importantly, please mark your calendar for August 2nd and plan to have a great time helping us raise funds for this very important cause!

One more thing… our theme this year is “Silver Elegance” to celebrate our 10th anniversary. But don’t forget the PINK!

An event letter is attached with all the forms… copies will be available at the clubhouse. If you have any questions, please call one of the committee members listed below.

    • Event Letter
    • Registration Form
    • Hole Sponsor Form

Have a fun, safe summer and THINK PINK on August 2nd!

2014 Pink Ribbon Rally: September 4, 2014

October 1, 2014 by Bruce

Pink Ribbon Rally

Pink Ribbon Rally
The Central Peninsula Health Foundation would like to thank the Pink Ribbon Rally committee, volunteers, participants and sponsors for their continued support of the Breast Cancer Resources Fund. On September 4, 2014, the Pink Ribbon Rally Committee presented a check for $30,000 to CPHF for a seven year total of $132,000.00.

“The Breast Cancer Fund was established by a group of local women who coordinate a golf & fundraising event to support the fight against breast cancer. This fund provides resources for the early detection and treatment of this all-too-prevalent disease.”

The Breast Cancer Resource fund pays for direct patient assistance, as well as the cost of informational breast cancer care pamphlets and sponsors the annual “Pamper-Me-Pink” party.

2014 Pink Ribbon Rally: August 10, 2014

June 27, 2014 by Bruce

Pink Ribbon Rally

Pink Ribbon RallyThe 2014 Pink Ribbon Rally Golf Event & Fundraiser is August 10th. In the past 8 years we have raised over $117,000 and in 2013 we donated $24,000.00 to the Central Peninsula Health Foundation to help in the fight against breast cancer on the local level.

This event is a 9-hole scramble for women only, with barbeque, awards and auction following golf. Check-in will begin at 8:30 AM, group picture at 9:30 and tee-off at 10:00 AM. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin, longest drive and other fun contests (some requiring little or no golfing ability).

We encourage you to put your own team together. Please have someone on your team who knows the course, the rules and can keep play moving. If you don’t have a full team, but have someone you would like to play with, please indicate it on your entry form. If you’re not on a team, that’s OK. We’ll take care of you. It’s important that we have e-mail addresses / phone numbers for each member of the team and please make sure everyone gets a copy of this information and the pledge form.

Register early! Each year we fill the field weeks before the event. We will cut off registrations once we reach 72 paid entries. The fee for this FUN event is still just $75.00… no increase so you can spend more at the event! Fee includes the greens fee, the barbeque following golf and the chance to win prizes! Non-golfing guests (men included) are encouraged to attend the barbeque and auction—estimated time 1:00 PM.

We need donation items. If you can help, please call a committee member listed below. We are putting together a “Pinterest” raffle and are hoping to get creative, fun items that everyone will want!

Raffle tickets will be on sale soon for our popular cash raffle. Look for additional information to come!

If you would like to volunteer, please call one of the committee members listed below. We can use all the help we can get… both before and the day of the event. We could really use someone to help us get donations!

A Pledge form is attached. Please use this method to help us raise funds. Just think–if everyone got at least $100 in pledges how much we could raise! This year there will be a very special surprise for the one who gets the most in pledges—plus there will be a GREAT prize!!!

Hole Sponsors have generously helped us raise funds in the past. Please consider being a hole sponsor or asking an individual or business to sponsor a hole. It’s an easy way to make a donation. Our repeat sponsor fee remains at $100.00. The fee for NEW sponsors is $150.00 to cover the cost of the sign. How about a sign “In memory of”? Contact Sharon Keating, 262-9195 or e-mail [email protected] if you would like to sponsor a hole or would like to remember someone with their name on our “Remembrance Sign”.

Be sure to THINK PINK when you dress for this event! The Patsy Pink Award will once again go to the “pinkest” individual golfer. The theme this year is to dress as you did the year of your high school graduation.

The Pink Ribbon Rally is organized under Bridges Community Resource Network, Inc. All donations are tax-deductible. TIN #92-0151271. Visa will be available the day of the Rally.

We’re excited about the 2014 Pink Ribbon Rally. Some of your favorite activities will be repeated… but as always… there will be some new surprises that you won’t want to miss!! So, please join us and help raise funds for this important cause.

In honor of all the breast cancer survivors in our group, all of our friends and loved ones that have battled breast cancer and all those who have yet to be diagnosed. Let’s make the 2014 Rally the best one yet!
